Last Sunday's Worship Service

traditional worship 2

Traditional Worship

Traditional worship has an energy that is grounded in the gift of hymns you know and love sprinkled with some new songs, keeping us connected to tradition but also creatively open.

This worship follows the lectionary, a three-year cycle of Scripture readings that gives one a sense of the grand sweep of the Bible over time while connecting it to our 21st century lives.

You will experience the richness of our adult and children’s choirs and bell choir. A special children’s message is included in this worship. We celebrate Holy Communion monthly.

Come Beloved Band

Contemporary Worship (Come BeLoved)

Our contemporary worship, known as Come BeLoved, alternates with the traditional service on a week-by-week basis. Come BeLoved features an outstanding band playing music you might often on the radio, but framed with a spiritual twist. We call these “plain clothes” hymns or songs to help your spirit soar.

Monthly themes help us dig into Scripture and make connections that help us retune our lives to the love of God. Videos and hands-on experiences help to create memorable experiences that strengthen our sense of God’s living presence and deepen our sense of calling.

Chancel Choir

Rehearses each Wednesday at 7:30 pm (September – May)

Hallelujah Ringers

Rehearse each Wednesday at 6:15 pm (September – May)

Children’s Choir

Features our youngest readers through 8th grade (November – April)

Worship

Our mission is to help connect people to faith.

At David’s United Church of Christ we recognize that when it comes to worship one size doesn’t fit all.

Some are fed by a more traditional liturgy, grounded in the three-year cycle of Bible readings called the Lectionary, and attentive to the church year that follows the life of Christ.

Others prefer a more contemporary style of worship that is thematic and uses a style of music more like what you might hear on the radio.

Due to the changes induced by the pandemic, we currently hold contemporary and traditional services on alternating Sundays. Eventually, we hope to return to two separate worship services.

Whatever your preference may be, you will discover that at David’s we believe the heart the Christian life is self-giving love. Join us on the journey!
